Sherman M4A3(76)W — the most advanced modification of the Sherman during World War II. The tank featured a powerful 76mm gun to counter heavy German armor and innovative "wet" ammunition storage (designated W), where shells were kept in water-filled jackets to prevent fires upon impact. This model depicts the tank named "Julia" from the famous 761st "Black Panthers" Tank Battalion.
Did you know? This tank's crew was part of the first U.S. tank unit ever formed exclusively of African Americans. Despite the prejudices of the era, the "Black Panthers" displayed exceptional bravery across Europe, and their motto "Come out fighting" became legendary. The name "Julia" was painted on the turret by the crew in honor of a tanker's wife, a common tradition that helped soldiers maintain a connection to home during the height of the war.
