Existed as a car from 1904 to 1991. The factory in Zwickau was founded by the famous German engineer and designer August Horch in 1904 and was named after the founder. After the war, the plant in Zwickau fell into the Soviet occupation zone of Germany and was nationalized, after which the production of trucks and tractors IFA was established. In 1955, the Horch P240 executive class car model was introduced, since 1957 it was named the Sachsenring P240. In 1958, the plant was merged with the car factory Zwickau (formerly Audi) into a single enterprise VEB Sachsenring Automobilwerke Zwickau. It launched the production of "people's cars" brand "Trabant", which lasted until 1991. In the 60s-70s, a number of prototypes were developed at the plant that were never manufactured.
